The Method

Eight Steps to Inner Calm

The Zentangle Method follows a structured eight-step process that guides you from blank tile to beautiful art, cultivating mindfulness at every stage.

01

Gratitude

Express gratitude for the materials—pens, pencils, and tiles. Begin with appreciation.

02

Corner Dots

Add four dots in the corners of the tile. The blank page is no longer blank.

03

Border

Connect the dots to create a gentle border, defining your creative space.

04

String

Draw a "string" to divide the space into sections. This guides your pattern placement.

05

Tangles

Fill each section with tangle patterns using deliberate, intentional pen strokes.

06

Shading

Add depth and dimension with pencil shading, bringing your tile to life.

07

Initial & Sign

Add your initials and sign your work. This tile is uniquely yours.

08

Appreciate

Take a moment to appreciate your completed piece and the journey you took.

"These steps guide a mindful creative process using repetitive patterns. Each step is intentional, each stroke deliberate."
